- AmA4 C5 E5
- FF4 A4 C5
- CC4 E4 G4
- GG4 B4 D5
How it works
- Type or paste chord names. Spaces, commas, dashes and bar lines all work as separators.
- Check the note readout under each chord. Anything the tool cannot read is marked in red and skipped.
- Set the tempo, how long each chord lasts, and the voicing (inversion, open or closed, octave).
- Press Play to hear it, then download the MIDI or WAV file.
If you have exactly 4, 6 or 8 chords, you can also open them in the chord progression generator, lock the ones you want to keep and generate alternatives for the rest.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert chords to MIDI?
Type the chord names into the box above, separated by spaces (for example Am F C G). Set the tempo and how long each chord lasts, then click Download MIDI. The file contains one block chord per step, at the tempo you chose.
Is the chord to MIDI converter free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on downloads.
Does it support slash chords and inversions?
Yes. Write a slash chord like G/B and the bass note is placed an octave below the chord. For inversions without a written bass, use the voicing menu to pick first or second inversion, or an open voicing.
Can I convert a chord chart from a song?
Yes. Copy the chord line from the chart, paste it into the box and remove anything that is not a chord. Bar lines (|) and dashes are ignored.
What is the difference between the MIDI and WAV download?
The MIDI file holds the notes only, so you choose the sound in your DAW and can edit every note. The WAV is a rendered piano recording of the chords, useful for a quick reference track or for apps that do not read MIDI.
Can it convert MIDI or audio back into chord names?
No. This tool goes one way, from chord names to MIDI. To find new chords instead of typing your own, use the chord progression generator.
