Last updated: March 20, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Chordoo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Chordoo website at www.chordoo.com and all related services (the "Service"), operated by Louis-Frédéric Fortier ("we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Chordoo is an online chord progression generator that allows users to create, customize, and export chord progressions as MIDI files. The Service includes:

  • A free tier with chord generation and MIDI export
  • A paid "Pro" subscription with additional features such as saving progressions to your library
  • A blog with music production resources

3. Account Registration

You may use some features of the Service without creating an account. To access certain features (e.g., saving progressions), you must register for an account by providing accurate and complete information.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Billing

Chordoo Pro subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) through our payment processor, LemonSqueezy. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees via LemonSqueezy/Stripe.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the LemonSqueezy customer portal. Upon cancellation, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

Right of Withdrawal (EU)

As an EU consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. To exercise this right, contact us at loufi.officiel@gmail.com before the 14-day period expires. If you have already used the Service during this period, a proportionate amount may be charged.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will apply at your next billing cycle after the notice period. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

5. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain full ownership of the chord progressions and MIDI files you create using Chordoo. We claim no intellectual property rights over your generated content. You are free to use your exported progressions for any purpose, including commercial projects, without attribution.

Our Content

The Chordoo name, logo, website design, blog content, and underlying software are the property of Louis-Frédéric Fortier and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our consent
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Service Availability & Modifications

We strive to keep Chordoo available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time. For paid subscribers, we will provide reasonable notice before removing features that are core to the subscription.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Louis-Frédéric Fortier shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles.

If you are an EU consumer, you benefit from mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence that cannot be waived by these Terms.

For dispute resolution, EU consumers may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at loufi.officiel@gmail.com. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data and saved progressions, except where retention is required by law.

We may terminate or suspend your account if you materially breach these Terms, with prior notice where reasonably possible.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, by email or a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
